Help Grow Seed

Know our Goals

Get Involved

We are a first year operation, but we have high goals. They include accumulating a much larger variety of seeds and widening out in our distribution locations. Our ultimate goal is to make organic gardening available to everyone.

We would like the seed library to build an inventory on par with other larger cities like New York who's library holds over 10,000 varieties of heirloom seed.

We would also like to see the library become a traveling operation throughout the Orlando area, able to visit local schools and other organizations to educate others about the value of heirloom seed and the methods for saving it.

Currently the CFSL is sponsored by Crispy Farms and the Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, but we are always in need of more seeds. The more seed we have, the more people we can distribute to and the greater varieties we have to offer.

The best way to help build our inventory, is to check out some seeds. By saving seeds and returning them in a greater quantity, you are helping to both build inventory and to keep the current seeds viable.

Also, If you already have some open pollinated seed you would like to donate to the library, please contact us.

Our aim is to spread education to as many people as possible about the value of heirloom seed and the methods for saving and preserving it. In order to reach as broad an audience as possible, we are in need of volunteers.

If you would be able to volunteer time printing flyers or brochures, distributing information, or helping with IT and computer work, please contact us.

Currently the CFSL has only one location available. Obviously the more locations it has, the more people and seeds it will be ale to connect with.

We are in need of volunteers. If you would be willing to help transport the Library to a local school, farmer's market, or other organization, please contact us.
