The Central Florida Seed Library is a not for profit organization dedicated to collecting and distributing open pollinated seed and seed saving information throughout the Central Florida area. The Library is available free of cost to anyone who would like to participate. It's dual purpose is both to educate about the techniques of seed saving and also to preserve the existing base of heirloom seed in our area.

Seed may be checked out of the library with the understanding it will be grown for home use, harvested, and then returned to the library as new seed. This will build the current inventory, allowing more people to participate. Rotating the current seed out with newer, fresher seeds, will also help keep the library viable.

The seeds are divided into three categories, beginner, intermediate, and advanced based on the difficulty of harvesting the seed. Information on seed saving techniques is distributed along with the seeds and beginners are greatly encouraged.

Seed is currently available to be checked out Monday evenings at the Audubon Park Community Market from 6-10pm. Other locations will be added soon.
